This Installation Guide contains the following parts:

Part 1 - System Requirements: What you need to run the application.
Part 2 - Downloading Instructions: How to download the initial setup file.
Part 3 - Installation Instructions: How to install the software on your computer from the setup file.

Notes:
If you would prefer to receive the setup file on CD-ROM to avoid download time, please contact PreViser Support and we will send you a disk by mail.
If you have installed an earlier version of the RiskCalculator™ and want to UPGRADE, you may or may not be UNINSTALLING the older version before you install the newer version. WARNING: If you uninstall the software, you will lose your patient data, so make a backup copy of your data file prior to uninstalling. Please contact a PreViser Support Representative if you have questions about this, or see the Disaster Recovery Documentation in the Quick Start Guide or User's Guide.


Part 1: SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

First, check the System Requirements and verify that the computer on which you will install the software meets them, so you can run the program correctly.

The PreViser Oral Health Information Suite™ is an application that resides on your local computer. The software must be installed on a Windows-based computer with the ability to connect to the Internet.
At this time, our software is NOT Macintosh-compatible.

• WIndows Operating System: any of XP/2000/ME/98
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (or greater) installed on your computer
• 32 MB RAM (or better)
• Pentium processor
• Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution monitor with 256 colors or better
• 10 MB Hard drive space or more
• Dial-up or Dedicated Internet connection

RECOMMENDED

• Color or Black and White Printer
• Current Windows Updates installed (available free from www.microsoft.com)
• Super VGA (1024 x 768) or higher-resolution monitor with 16,000 colors or better
• Dedicated Internet connection (for example, cable or DSL)

Part 2: DOWNLOADING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Go to www.previser.com and click the shortcut to Download from the Home page, or click on the Products tab on the left.

2. Click on the PreViser Oral Health Information Suite™ text, then the Download link, and follow the instructions as you are prompted.

3. If you already have a user account (username and password received from PreViser), enter that information onto the account login screen and click Proceed to verify your existing account information. If you do not yet have an account, click "Sign up for a free account" and you will fill out a form with information so we can create an account and send your username later by email. At the bottom of your account information form, click "Continue."

4. Review the instructions, then click the link at the bottom that says “Download PreViserSetup.exe” to download the file which you will then run to install the program.

5. Choose to either OPEN or SAVE the file. If you select Open, the installation process will begin automatically by downloading the setup file to a temporary folder. If you select Save, the file will download to a location you choose (such as your Desktop), then you can install it from that folder when you choose. We recommend you SAVE the setup file, then install it, to avoid any problems during this process.

6. Save the setup file in a temporary location where you can easily locate it, such as your Desktop, your "My Documents" folder or on your “C” drive.

7. Once the download is complete, you are ready to install the program, as described in the next section.

Part 3: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. After you have downloaded the PreViserSetup.exe file, go to the location where you saved the file.

2. Run the file by double-clicking on the icon.

3. Follow the steps of the installation process as detailed here. Choose the appropriate options in the installer, clicking Next to proceed through each step of the Install wizard.

Welcome Screen:
When you double-click on the previsersetup.exe file icon, the Installation Wizard should initiate the install and you'll see a welcome screen. Click Next to continue.

End-user License Agreement:
You will be asked to read through the End-User License Agreement, and indicate whether you AGREE or DISAGREE with these terms of use. If you DISAGREE, the installation will terminate. You must accept this license to continue the install.

Choose Destination Location:
You will select a location for the application folder. The default option is typically on your "C" drive in the folder "Program Files".
If you want to change the installation location, click on the Browse button and choose the folder where you want the program installed.

Start Installation:
Click Next on this screen will start the automatic process of installing the files correctly into the application folder, which displays in a progress window.

Please Close All Applications:
You will be prompted to close any other applications you still have open. Close them, then click OK.

Installation Complete:
Once the installation is complete, the installer will display a verification screen. Check the Launch box if you would like to open the application immediately, or leave it unchecked to simply exit. Click Finish to exit the installer.

4. You are now ready to open the application for the first time. There are two ways you can open the program at any time, depending on your preferences. One option (recommended) is to go to your computer Desktop and double-click on the shortcut icon (see below) to launch the application. The other option is to click the Start button (in the lower left corner of your screen), then go to Programs > PreViser RiskCalculator™ > PreViser RiskCalculator™. In either place, look for the small PreViser logo shown here:

In order to start using the application, you will need to enter some setup information on the Options page you will see the first time you open the application.

In order to use the program in fully functional mode to do "real" risk and disease assessments, rather than in demonstration mode only, you need to receive a username and password from PreViser. Please contact PreViser Support if you need a username.

Please begin by referring to the Quick Start Guide which you may access from that Options page or from the menu of help resources shown when you click the Support button. This brief resource provides key instructions and information so you can begin using the OHIS™ program.
