In the upper left corner of the toolbar:

You will see two options, File and Help, which both open drop-down menus. Clicking File allows you to exit the application (see Accessing the Application). Clicking Help displays a few choices, shown below:

Select either the User's Guide or Online Support Center to open either of those user help resources (the same choices appear on the Support menu). Select "About PreViser RiskCalculator" to display the version of the PreViser RiskCalculator™ software you have installed on your computer.

Global Functionality:

As you navigate through various pages, if you make changes on any page then leave that page by clicking on anything other than “Cancel” or “Delete”, the new information you added is saved for that page. More specific information about how to navigate through and perform specific tasks is detailed in each topic in this user’s guide.

Keyboard Shortcuts (Access keys):

Access keys allow for rapid data entry. Each wizard or screen that captures data with a form should have keyboard shortcuts, which are indicated by an underlined letter in the label name of the element.

Clicking the ALT key while typing the underlined letter allows you to navigate to that box for numerical data entry on some screens, and on other screens the shortcut will automatically check that box. For example, on the Dental Info screen, the the B in "Bleeding on Probing" is underlined; you can click ALT and B to check that box, indicating it is true. On the Treatments Performed screen, you can click ALT and any underlined letter on that screen to navigate to that box, where you can enter the correct numerical response.

You can also use the Tab key to jump sequentially through the data entry fields on any particular screen.

Risk Assessment Wizards:

You can page freely between the series of screens in a Risk Assessment wizard, and you can save incomplete Risk Assessments as Unfinished to be completed later.

You cannot submit an unfinished Risk Assessment to PreViser for calculation. If you attempt to click the Finish button or Save invalid forms, you will see a popup message alerting you that there was a problem. Clicking "OK" on the message will return you to the wizard to correct or complete it. The requirements for completing the data entry correctly are explained in the Perio and Caries Risk Assessment documentation.

List Behavior:

Where appropriate, lists are sortable by column name. Paging is enabled for large amounts of data.

Security:

Private health information stored on your computer(s) must be protected from unauthorized use or access. Private information must be encrypted before being stored on your computer or transmitted over the Internet. For details, see the Security section in the PreViser Overview chapter.
