(logging in): |
Verifying
the identity of a user who is logging onto a computer system or
verifying the origin of a transmitted message. Your PreViser username
and password provide the necessary authentication for the PreViser
web services to process your data and return a Treatment Option
Plan or Billing Statement. |

A
program that allows you to look through a set of data.
To view data in the PreViser application, you must have Microsoft
Internet Explorer (version 6.0or higher)
installed on your computer.

recovery: |
A
plan for re-establishing or reproducing computer operations after
a catastrophic event, such as a fire or earthquake. It may include
routine off-site backup as well as a procedure for re-activating
necessary information systems. |

method for implementing security policies designed to keep a network
secure from intruders. Firewalls are widely used to give users secure
access to the Internet as well as to separate a company's public
Web server from its internal network. |
| Functionality: |
The
capabilities or behaviors of a program, application, or system;
the total set of its features, or "the things it can do." |
| Global: |
Pertaining
to the entire application, program, or file. |
| Hardware: |
The
physical machinery and equipment part of a computer system. |
| Navigation: |
The
way you move from page to page or part to part of a program or Web

A
set of buttons or graphic images, typically in a row or column,
used as a central point that links you to major sections of an application

Personal
computer. To use the PreViser application, you must use a Windows-based
PC (the dominant standard). PreViser is not compatible with Macintosh
operating systems. |

The
period of time between starting and quitting use of an application
program. |
| Software: |
A
set of instructions that tells the computer what to do. Application
software tells the computer how to process data, and system software
tells the computer how to run its basic operating system. The RiskCalculator™
is a software application. |
| Wizard: |
A
utility within an application that helps you use the application
to perform a particular task, by guiding you through a specific
set of steps. Each new Risk Assessment takes you through a wizard,
or a set of specific screens of data entry relevant to that assessment. |
